Support Teen Cancer Trust with CHF 400,000 Unique Hublot Watch Set
By timbaysinger • • Category: Horology, News & NoteworthyIf you are a fan of Depeche Mode or just an avid watch collector you’ll want to hear about this unique offer.
Beginning today and running through the 24th, watchmaker Hublot and the band Depeche Mode are teaming up to offer you a one-of-a-kind deal. In support of the UK’s Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT), the two have created twelve unique versions of Hublot’s Big Bang that will be auctioned off for the next two and half weeks. All proceeds will go to the TCT.
Each of the watches will bear the artwork of one of Depeche Mode’s twelve albums. The auction is completely online and can be accessed via the websites of Hublot, Depeche Mode, Teenage Cancer Trust, and Patrizzi & Co., who is running the auction. Along with Liveauctioneers.com, the Geneva auction house is lending their expertise to this great cause.
With each piece you will receive a box set that includes both a deluxe vinyl and a USB digital version of that particular album; the digital edition also comes with a behind the scenes documentary. Also included is the original album artwork, a framed gold CD, and a photograph signed by all contributing members of the band, including Vince Clark and Alan Wilder.
The watches themselves feature a soundblasted black ceramic bezel with six H-shaped black PVD screws. Featuring the album artwork that is placed between three and nine o’clock, these lovely timepieces have a power reserve of 42 hours and a matching black alligator rubber strap. The album logo is located on the soundblasted black cermaic and sapphire crystal back.
Patrizzi & Co. is estimating that it will take roughly CHF 400,000 for you to own the whole set (CHF 35,000 for each).
All of the money raised will be presented to the Teenage Cancer Trust on February 26, during the penultimate concert of Depeche Mode’s “Sounds of the Universe” tour in Dusseldorf. The band is also kicking off TCT’s 10th year of concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall on February 17. Featuring special guest The Horrors, this also celebrates the 20th anniversary of the UK’s first teenage cancer unit.
This is a great deal for any watch lover and an even greater cause to support.
