Poggenpohl Presents New +ARTESIO Design
By Alex Neely • May 26th, 2010 • Category: Design, News & NoteworthyAt the “Eurocucina” Furniture Exhibition in Milan, renowned premium-kitchen manufacturer Poggenpohl presented the +ARTESIO.
Designed by the legendary Hadi Teherani, the +ARTESIO conveys an architectural amalgamation, blending designs through wall, ceiling, and floor. Bearing the traditional Teherani creative touch, the +ARTESIO was developed to embrace all aspects of interior design, particularly cooking and living.
In order to fuse the floor, wall, and ceiling design, Teharani integrated a functional arch in the ceiling to allow for proper lighting, ventilation, and sound. The +ARTESIO – designed to integrate eating and cooking – features matching dark pine chairs, dining table, and a corner bench. Encompassing the 130mm architectural grid are the regal louvred wall and base unit, accentuated by a stainless-steel band.
As early as 1967, Poggenpohl has been at the forefront of kitchen trends, popularizing the cooking island, and later the open kitchen. Since then, the company has created such kitchen innovations as multifunctional tables and shelf systems, which gives credence to their slogan, “The kitchen is moving out into the home.”
Although a price has yet to be revealed for the current concept, Poggenpohl has guaranteed it will be available by January 2011.
