Pagani Zonda R Final Series
By Affluent Page Editor • • Category: Automobile, News & NoteworthyItalian Exotic auto builder Horatio Pagani has announced a limited edition run of 16 final series models of his much-lauded Zonda R supercar, at about $1.8 million apiece. Already numbered among the most dramatically styled and exclusive supercars in the world, the final series Zonda R pushes everything to extremes: extreme design, extreme materials and extreme performance. The big draw is a revolutionary carbon-fiber/titanium mix chassis resulting in a low weight and low centre of gravity; stylistically, a longer front bonnet with flaps, a closed underbody and rear overhang with adjustable wing and race-derived diffuser all work to improve lean looks and aerodynamics.
Equipped with a Mercedes-Benz AMG-sourced 739-horsepower 6.0-liter V12 engine, and provided with Pagani’s first-ever paddleshift gearbox, the rear-drive Zonda R will hit 60 mph in three seconds and max out at an impressive 233 mph. Other upgrades include a carbon-fiber high-flow intake, racing multiple disc sintered clutch, an F1-style exhaust system, forged suspension, and a four pump fuel tank borrowed from aeronautical engineering – which is fitting because it may be tough to keep this beautiful monster on the ground.
