New $300,000 Bentley is a Demon on the Streets

Following the successful release of their Continental Supersports Coupé last year, Bentley is prepared to unveil their latest model, the 2011 Continental Supersports Convertible.

With the 630PS (621bhp/463kW) twin-turbocharged W12 engine, it’s the fastest, most potent drop-top the British manufacturer has ever produced. Able to climb all the way to 202 mph and a blazing 0-60 mph in under four seconds, you’ll think it belongs on the racetrack. This speed demon also has a revised ZF 6HP26 transmission with ‘Quickshift’ that cuts shift times in half and enables double downshifts.

Bentley’s self described “muscular yet elegant” styling features a center air intake and vertical grilles that feed ten percent more air than others to its turbocharger intercoolers. Bonnet vents extract the hot air right from the engine bay.  What makes it so much faster? Perhaps its the larger, twin elliptical exhaust tailpipes or the fixed rear bootlid spoiler that improves aerodynamics.
Bentley has added six new colors to its palette (Citric, White Satin, Kingfisher, Magenta, Orange Flame and St James Red Pearl). Features such as Adaptive Cruise Control with ‘Follow to Stop’ feature, an iPod interface, front seat massage function, telephone handsets, rear-view camera and Valet key, are not standard but can be had with one of their Convenience Packs.

Price, though not announced yet, is expected to be in the $300,000 range.
