This weekend, Atria Restaurant in Edgartown, Massachusetts will host the Martha’s Vineyard California Wine Affair. From the wine-related auction, to the Kings of California Cabernet Gala Dinner, to the Gala Tasting, individuals will have an exclusive opportunity to become amerced in the California wine industry. In addition, superstars from every facet of the California wine industry will attend for meet-and-greets, and question and answers.

The Martha’s Vineyard California Wine Affair commences on Friday from 4 to 6 pm with a silent auction. Among rare bottles of wine, the auction will offer dinners at exclusive restaurants and modern artwork. All proceeds from the auction will go directly to the Martha’s Vineyard Shellfish Group.

Immediately following the silent auction, individuals will have the opportunity to enjoy six courses at the Kings of California Cabernet Gala Dinner. Each course – expertly prepared by six local chefs – will feature a variety of California’s preeminent wines.

The Gala Tasting, held on Saturday evening, will include more than 200 wines from over 50 California vineyards, as well as, a variety of hors d’oeuvres. Located under a tent at the beautiful Atria, guests will have the opportunity to sample from 25 different stations. On top of that, representatives from each of the wineries will be on hand, including Whetstone Wine Cellars, C Donatiello, and the legendary head wine maker for Halter Ranch Vineyard, Bill Sheffer.

John Clift, General Manager for Edgartown’s Great Harbour Gourmet & Spirits, and Wine Director at Atria Restaurant created the event to give individuals “a different perspective of what’s in the glass in front of them.”

Although the Atria Restaurant will not officially open for the season till May 20^th, this exclusive event will be the restaurant’s “premier weekend of summer.” Limited spots are available, so for reservations call 508-627-5850.
