Fly Around in the WWII-Style Bear 360 for $285,000

Modeled after the warbirds that led the allied forces to victory in WWII, the United States and Russia have teamed up yet again to bring you a little piece of nostalgia.

Taking their cues from such classic fighter planes like the Bearcat, Hellcat, and Yak, Russian aircraft designer Sergey Yakovlev and American fighter pilot and champion air racer Skip Holm have collaborated to build the Bear 360.

The $285,000 two-seater airplane is fitted with a 360hp M-14P supercharged reciprocating 9-cylinder radial engine.  Unlike any other aircraft in its class, the Bear 360 was engineered to both FAR23 and military standards.  It underwent rigorous flight-testing by Holm himself, and spent over 1,000 hours inside wind-tunnels.  Holm described the test as “one of the best flights ever.”

The plane comes in both RTF (Ready to Fly) and ARF (Almost Ready to Fly) models.  The ARF comes with the same specifications as the RTF, but comes without the engine, propeller, avionics, interior, or paint.  The RTF is priced significantly lower at $185,000.

The RTF model comes in two editions:  the standard Warbird edition, or the Skip Holm signature series.  The latter which is built completely custom to allow you to build your plane exactly how you want it.
