A 1963 Aston Martin DB4 GT, one of only 75 built, is set to go on the auction block next month. As part of RM Auction’s Automobiles of Arizona, this retro model is expected to go for one million dollars.

Billed as the competition variant of the DB4, this car was first introduced at the 1959 London Motor Show. Its design was based on the winning prototype driven by Stirling Moss at the Silverstone race in May of that year.

Built to be shorter, lighter, and more powerful than the DB4, the GT has a top speed of 153 mph and does 0-60 in six seconds. Named the most powerful British car of its era, its features  luxurious Connolly leather interior, Wilton wool carpets, and exterior rared-in headlamps.

All DB4 GTs were produced between 1959-1963, making this car one of the last of the series. Undergoing a complete restoration between 1994-95, it is a popular entrant at historic racing events such as the Goodwood Revival and the many Aston Martin Owners Club Championship race meetings.

Automobiles of Arizona will take place on January 21, at Phoenix’s Biltmore Resort and Spa.
