Bottega Veneta to Unveil New Designs at Salone Del Mobile

Bottega Veneta is set to showcase their new design previews for the coming season at Milan’s Salone Del Mobile.

Known primarily for their woven bags among other fine leather goods, the Italian company has decided to break into the Japanese sector by celebrating their culture with various collaborations with design artists, and putting on a student design competition with the University of Tokyo. The winner’s design will be displayed for purchase at Bottega Veneta’s Ginzo store.

Also putting on events at their Milan headquarters, there will be an exhibition of new home pieces, items from the permanent collection and Japanese crafts displayed in a space co-curated by Creative Director Tomas Maier, and Seiichi Kamei, editor-in-chief of Casa Brutus.

For those of you who are intent on bringing a piece from the Bottega Veneta collection back home, there will be a special pop-up store in the new Milan showroom.  The store will be featuring items not available outside Japan and bags and leather goods, all designed in a limited edition.

The Salone Del Mobile takes place from April 14th to 19th at the Rho Exhibition Center; it will be open for public viewing on the 18th.
