At $200,000/Ticket Virgin Galactic Offers Experience in the Great Beyond

Self proclaimed as the world’s first space line, Virgin Galactic is now taking reservations for their weekly flights into space.

Propelled by the initial success of SpaceShipOne, Richard Branson has officially granted the wish of every starry-eyed traveler, creating the SpaceShipTwo. Priced at $200,000/ticket, each individual can experience awe-inspiring view of Earth from above, among the weightless abyss of sub-orbital space.

The shuttle, which can accommodate six passengers and two pilots, is now being flight tested, and is expected to be ready for space travel in 2011.

With the sign up propelling to a meteoric rise (over 100 on the list), each individual will be placed on a five year waiting list – a diminutive amount of time compared to the experience. Upon their initial call, each ‘Founder’ astronaut must undergo a three-day training program.

Along with physically and mentally preparing each person for the flight, Virgin makes it mandatory for each individual to venture into “sensory overload” (zero gravity).

With such an ethereal adventure, Virgin Galactic underwent infinite tests for extreme safety precautions. In being the first to attempt such a journey, it was imperative for them to collect years of scientific information.

Upon their completion, Virgin constructed the shuttle in a carbon composite, incorporated the wing feathering, and invented the hybrid rocket motor technology. Each one of the aforementioned bolsters the shuttle to a highly efficient, extremely safe shuttle.
