This past weekend, the watchmaking community gathered in Geneva to honor the best in watchmaking at the 9th Annual Grand Prix d’Horologerie de Géneve.

The coveted “L’Aiguille d’Or”, or “Golden Hand” award went to A. Lange & Söhne for their latest creation, Lange Zeitwerk. The most prestigious award at the Geneva ceremony effectively makes the Lange Zeitwerk the top watch of the year.

Top Men’s prize went to Audemars Piguet for their watch, Jules Audemars with Audemars Piguet escapement, while Piaget won the top Ladies award with the Limelight Twice model.

Watchmaker Anthony Randall captured the Best Watchmaker award, and Dr. Ludwig Oechslin was honored with the special Jury prize; Dr. Oechslin is the Director of the International Museum of Horology of La Chaux de Fond.

Richard Mille was honored with the Sports watch prize for their RM025 Diver’s watch, and Harry Winston was the top Design with the Opus 9.

Greubel Forsey received the Complicated Watch prize for the Double Tourbillon Technique, while Hublot took the top Jewelery prize with the One Million $ Black Caviar Bang.

Rounding out the awards was watchmaker Fawaz Gruosi.  Gruosi’s company de Grisogono garnered enough pubic votes to win the Public prize.
