As part of its “12 Gifts of Christmas,” British luxury goods company Asprey is offering a first editon of Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot’s Christmas for £25,000. Originally published in 1939 by London’s Collins Crime Club, the book is bound by Asprey in full black morocco, and is part of its Rare Book collection.

Hercule Poirot’s Christmas is another adventure of Christie’s legendary Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. Proving that murder and mystery are never out of season, Christie takes a family get-together for the holidays and transforms it into a spectacular locked room caper.

Inlaid on the front cover is a leather mosaic of a sprig of red-berried holly that is dripping a pool of blood. The covers are paneled and lettered in maroon, and the edges and Japanese end papers are stained in dark red.

Asprey Rare Books, whose roots trace back to the early 1900s, features a diverse collection of first and limited editions; many of them remain in their original bindings. Asprey also carries a broad range of modern editions of classic titles and reference books, which can be personalized with names, dates, initials, crests, and dedications. In addition, personal book searching and full conservation and binding services are also offered.
