Next month this beautiful and stunning Katana sword will go under the mallet at Bonhams New York, where it should garner a hefty price tag.

First unveiled at the Amsterdam Millionaire Fair, this glass sculpture contains 70 carats of diamonds and rubies, and took glass artist Monique Schloss more than six months to create.

The glass sculpture capital of the world can be found in Italy; a predominately male world.

Dutch woman Schloss has defied the skeptics to make this piece, and such creations have helped her claim her place on the world stage. Featuring gems are all flawless, and many are contained within the glass, the handle took months to design and perfect. Originally priced at $1 million, the market will decide how much it’s worth in January when the sword goes up for auction.
